So, I've been saving up a few short stories over the last year and a half or so, and my original intention was to maybe publish them in a book of short stories in the future when I'd built up enough. What with life and work increasingly getting in the way of things, this goal is getting pushed further and further away. Yesterday, I decided that rather than store some of these short stories that I've written, I wil...Read Full Post »

Hi there, I hope you've all been well.
It's not that often that I write a blog these days. I only tend to bother writing one up if I've created a new piece of artwork, or if I've made significant progress on my novel (which, by the way, is almost finished but not quite). But this time, the thing that urged me to type away at this post was my reoccurring worries about population control. This may seem a bit random but hey...Read Full Post »

As I get closer and closer to finishing my book I still can't actually believe I am even writing one. It's been a long time in the making, and what started out as rough notes scribbled on to a cheap A4 pad is now on the way to being sculpted into a fully structured story. It hasn't been easy, it has been much harder than I expected it to be, and I have genuinely lost count of how many times I have reworked and edited the manuscript. Just recently I thought I was close to being ...Read Full Post »

It's been a while since I have found the time to update my progress on here, I have been very involved with the writing of my novel for a long time now. But over the last few days I seem to have been taken over by an urge to get my charcoals out again and produce some new artwork.
Artwork is always better when it reflects a piece of the artist. I think it's great to look at a painting and see what kind of mood the artist was in, or...Read Full Post »

Bitterness, resentment, jealousy and spite
All unadmirable qualities if you like
But don't just sit there
Wearing your imaginary crown
Wev'e all been there
And experienced the downs
Some like to feel superior
As if they...Read Full Post »

I look back upon the days of old
With wiser eyes
But now slightly cold
Many times I have wished
That to the past I could have returned
To prevent the wasted years I churned
No stranger to regret is I
I have seen the wor...Read Full Post »

Here is a poem I wrote while my nan was in hospital recently. Sadly she passed away and will be remembered and missed by a lot of people...
Fresh and new to enter the world
Your energy knows no boundaries
Take on the day with no fear of tiring
Forever may your body be firing
Yo...Read Full Post »

So, I now have two new paintings finished in the build up to my future show. I have definately taken a route towards nude/figure painting when it comes to exhibiting. It opens up more avenues regarding composition and mood, and it will form the bulk of my exhibition.
The immediate problem that has sprung up regarding this is the task of creating reference material. I am used to the sometimes tricky job of finding material ...Read Full Post »

Here is one of the two poems I wrote today. I often ponder on the future of mankind, and marvel at the fact that we once were tree dwelling creatures....
The future ahead
Oh what will it bring
All lights are dim
What kind of people will our lands foster?

Iv'e been trying to get around to writing something new on here for quite a while now, now that certain events are receding (hopefully for good) into the past. Therefore my ranting about one of the fictional books is over - i'll leave it for somebody else to waste their time on.
I was going to write about the many wonders of nature/evolution that I read about, but there is too much to choose from so i'll save th...Read Full Post »
