Here is one of the two poems I wrote today. I often ponder on the future of mankind, and marvel at the fact that we once were tree dwelling creatures....
The future ahead
Oh what will it bring
Skyscrapers piling
All lights are dim
What kind of people will our lands foster?
Will we be distinct?
Our differences no longer
Will there be peace?
Will there be war?
I hope that all spite
Has been shown the door
I hope all dictators and rulers alike
Are a thing of the past
As a new system takes flight
Our planet's decay
I hope has been halted
To a distant terrain
We may be transported
Years of work
And trial and error
Has helped produce knowledge
That will get passed on forever
A pleasant thought to ponder
Is one which sees
Distant modern colonies
With familiar tools bolts and keys
A future traveller
A thousand years from now
Carrying penicillin and aspirin
Seems great somehow
The creatures who once
Were up in the trees
Could be intergalactic
May we succeed
