Here is a poem I wrote while my nan was in hospital recently. Sadly she passed away and will be remembered and missed by a lot of people...
Fresh and new to enter the world
Your energy knows no boundaries
Take on the day with no fear of tiring
Forever may your body be firing
Your body is a vessel
Unique from all the others
But time will still test
It's protective covers
What a sad place life can seem
Sometimes like a kind of bad dream
Nothing comes for free in this world
You realise that as life unfurls
For the price you pay to experience life
Is to grow old one day which may not be nice
We are like players thrown into a game
Unknowingly all the same
Hopefully we get to play our full ninety minutes
Then a sad goodbye to those who are still in it
