I look back upon the days of old
With wiser eyes
But now slightly cold
Many times I have wished
That to the past I could have returned
To prevent the wasted years I churned
No stranger to regret is I
I have seen the world through distorted eyes
But I feel somewhere deep in my being
That certain hangups are decreasing
The grudging force that I used to harbour
Is still not far
But its grip is weaker
As I progress from young to old
An acceptance grows
And so eases life's flow
A possible comfort that I hope awaits
Is to immerse myself and develop a poise
To embrace life and accept the joys
